I was using them when I was having other problems with injectors and ignition, that way if I killed some plugs I wasn't out $60 over and over again. Granted, changing them every time you do the oil is a little much, but it gives you a chance to read the plugs and catch any problems early. Also, the coppers will prevent you from killing your motor if you don't hear detonation. (Yes, you should be positive your car is not detonating anyway, but it's just insurance). Copper does conduct better than platinum AFAIK.
